This project was started in 2005 with the assistance of Tej Kohli Foundation. This project is for who are corneal blind. Niramaya transplanted donated corneas to corneal blind person free of cost.
Why Motiya Bund Project: You may be knowing that a cataract surgery, on an average, costs Rs 15,000/ in Delhi and Rs 10,000/ in Gurgaon. It is not affordable to a financially weak patient, especially the old aged poor due to dependency on others for their livelihood and financial condition of the family.
Purpose
Inspite of all the advances and progress made in medical science and technology, there is no man made substitute available for human cornea so far. Imaging a life without sight! Can we do anything? Yes, of course there is no other gift greater than donation an eye to a human being! So, hurry up for the noble cause.
